SQL Tools Short Term Road Map - Q4 2006
This is the Roadmap for 2006 that we are
trying to wrap up
|

** COMPLETED - THIS HAS BEEN RELEASED AS 2005.06 ** We've been trying to get
this major feature release out for months Click

What's New in the new version |
|
We plan an external beta release for .NET
templates this month. This is a major change as existing templates use
MS script parser, which is how ApexSQL Code has worked for 5+ years. Most of the other efforts will be geared towards a quarter end release. We tentatively plan release of New ApexSQL Code with .NET templates, new object model, and significantly improved Intelliprompt. This would be our Major, Next Generation Release of ApexSQL Code Click Here for a Detailed Functional Overview of the new version |

** COMPLETED - THIS HAS BEEN RELEASED AS 2005.10
** The next planned release for
ApexSQL Diff is described here

** COMPLETED - THIS HAS BEEN RELEASED AS 2005.10
** We have recently released a pretty major version of ApexSQL Doc in which a lot of things were organized and improved to improve the foundation of the app. We plan a medium feature release this quarter including VS2005 style (collapsible regions), HTML 2.0 output, and HTML 2.0 style. I will add some links to this with screen shots of how these will look shortly. Both of these releases should be out this month. Click Here for a What's New of the new version |

We have recently released a good sized version of
ApexSQL Edit that included the new Snippet Manager. The next release we hope to get out this month will include a significantly streamlined Options screen. There will also be a new query options dialog. And also reworked/streamline source control. see the blog post on it here The ApexSQL Edit team also plans a major beta release (that will probably spill over to next month or two) that will include finished Unit Testing and Debugging as well as sql profiling |
| We plan a maintenance release of ApexSQL Report this month that will include conversion to .NET 2.0. No other new features planned |
|
We'll be releasing a major version of ApexSQL
Script soon. The goal is this quarter. A lot of value added features
will be added such as scripting from a VSS label or Scripting into
Source control (or any other SCC compliant source control system). We
are adding tons of script customization features to embed blocks of
script at header, footer or object level.
