How can purchasing a Software Assurance Subscription save money?

Software Assurance is a much more cost effective means of obtaining the latest and greatest versions of ApexSQL tools, than purchasing the new versions when they come out. Purchasing a product with 3-yr Subscription will typically result in a savings of up to nearly 60% over 4 years vs. buying new versions when they come out. *

Vs purchasing with Software Assurance and renewing yearly
You can save money on your Subscription by purchasing in 2 or 3 year blocks
- A 1 year Subscription is 25% of the product price
- For 2 years it is 20% a year (20% total savings on Assurance)
- For 3 years it is 15% a year (30% total savings) (See the example below based on a $299 Client Utility like ApexSQL Diff)
What are the additional benefits of a current Assurance Subscription?
In addition to Product Support and Upgrade Protection customer under Software Assurance can also:
- Upgrade any products to a Value Bundle by paying just the differential in price (current price of the bundle vs price you paid for licenses) as long as the product has a current Subscription.
- Get cumulative quantity discounts based on the total licenses you own. For example if you have 2 licenses Subscribed, the next one you purchase would be at the quantity 3 tier discount price. These discounts can be significant for larger quantities.
How can I check my Subscription status, Upgrade and Latest Version eligibility?
To check on the Subscription status of ApexSQL software you have purchased, please visit our Upgrade Center and/or Contact a Sales representative directly, to discuss upgrade availability and options.
Request your keys via our Get Activation Keys form which will include Assurance expiration date, last version eligibility, and more helpful information for all of your keys.
What if I don't purchase Software Assurance?
You do have 30 days after initial purchase to add Subscription, so contact sales@apexsql.com if you change your mind.
What if I purchased my software without Assurance and a new major version is released soon after (e.g. 1 month, 2 months, etc.)
You do have 30 days after purchase to add Software Assurance to provide for Upgrade Protection. Otherwise you would need to purchase the new major version. Existing customer discounts of 30% will apply though.
Can I just purchase a Subscription when a new major version comes out?
No. Software Assurance for a product can be renewed, if it has expired, but can't be purchased after the fact.
If my Assurance Subscription has expired, can I still renew it?
Yes, we can still retroactively renew your Software Assurance Subscription back to the renewal expiration date.
