Troubleshooting Troubleshooting and Known issues with Apex SQL Tools Is there a way to skip the errors on execution with .NET executable generated by ApexSQL Script? SUMMARY The way to skip a script execution error with generated .NET executable is discussed. SYMPTOMS I scripted my database as .Net Executable, but on its execution there was thrown an error and the package dialog got closed. RESOLUTION Yes, it is possible to skip a script execution errors. SUMMARY It is possible to script the objects in the proper creation order. SYMPTOMS Script execution completed with errors because of attempt to create dependent objects before the objects they depend on. CAUSE The generated script uses incorrect objects creation order. RESOLUTION Make sure that Explicitly Parse Database for Proper Script Creation Order option is turned On. ![]() If this option is enabled ApexSQL Script will parse the database looking for the object dependencies and building the proper object creation order. SUMMARY I selected only one database for scripting but anyway Script Wizard warns me that I didn’t select the objects for scripting, but I did. What’s wrong here? SYMPTOMS Script Wizard displays the message "Please select at least one object to script for database ..." for case of a single database is chosen and objects for scripting are checked. CAUSE This happens if you didn’t select the objects in the mode you chose in the Script Wizard. For example, you did select the objects in Data mode: ![]() And didn’t select any in Structure mode: ![]() However in the Script Wizard you chose scripting Structure Only: ![]() ApexSQL Script warns you to select the objects in Structure mode: ![]() RESOLUTION Verify that that objects are checked in the Structure or(and) Data mode according to mode they are to be scripted in(Data, Structure, both Data and Structure). SUMMARY The reason of appearance of the warning is explained. SYMPTOMS When starting Script Wizard a message-box with the warning "Please select at least one object to script for database ..." is displayed. CAUSE You did not select any object to be scripted for one of the chosen databases. ![]() RESOLUTION Change the current database selection to the database pointed in the warning and select the objects to be scripted or de-select the database to not consider it at scripting stage.
