Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting and Known issues with Apex SQL Tools

ApexSQL Diff doesn't show any objects after comparison in Data mode.

After data comparison is finished the Main Grid doesn't show comparison results.

CAUSE
There are three most possible reasons why compared objects are not shown in the Main Grid:
  1. The tables(views) have identical data.

  2. The tables(views) are incomparable.

  3. The tables(views) were filtered out by the Object Filter.

RESOLUTION

  • To verify that objects are identical use the Main Menu->Tools->View Identical Objects command. The Identical Objects dialog displays the objects that were detected identical during comparison:

More information on Identical Objects is available at on-line Help for ApexSQL Diff.

  • Use the Main Menu->Tools->View Incomparable Objects menu item to view the information about objects that could not be compared for some reason(they have different names and/or schemas and not mapped, for example):

Additional information on Incomparable Objects dialog is available from on-line Help.

  • The Object Filter settings can filter out the objects by their types. Check that Table(or View) button is pressed at the Data Object Filter toolbar. As shown at the picture below the Tables button released state hides the Table objects.

Look at on-line ApexSQL Diff Help for Data Objects Filter toolbar description.
