ApexSQL Doc can generate documentation for the following data sources:
- Databases on SQL Server 2000 and higher
- SSIS packages for SQL Server 2005 and higher
Add data sources to the project using either the Datasources
and objects pane, or via the Actions
group on the Home tab

Quick tip:
Once
the selections are made, make sure to save the project
|
- In the Data
sources and objects pane, select Database
engine
- Click Add, and connect
to the server
- Once connected, the instance of SQL Server will appear in the list
of SQL Servers, along with a list of the databases on that server.
Check the box next to the databases for documenting
- In the Data
sources and objects pane, select
Integration services
- Click Add to open the Add
integration services dialog
- Select the location(s) of the SSIS packages, and click Connect
- To connect to the SSIS
package store:
- From the Package
location drop-down menu select SSIS
package store (SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008)
- In the Server
field enter the name of the default SSIS instance and click Connect
4. Once connected, the selected package locations
will appear in a list in the Integration
services section, along with a list of the available packages.
Check the box next to the packages for documenting
