Connecting to a server

From the Server drop down, select the server to connect to
Select either Windows or SQL Server authentication. On Windows authentication, ApexSQL Doc will use the currently logged in Windows user to authenticate to SQL Server. On SQL Server authentication, enter appropriate credentials for the instance of SQL Server
Select Remember password to save your SQL credentials
Click Options to configure the following options:
a.) Connection timeout allows specifying the time in seconds to wait for the connection attempt to the SQL Server to succeed
b.) Execution timeout allows specifying the time in seconds to wait for a operation retrieval attempt to succeed
c.) Select Encrypt connection to use an encrypted connection
Click Connect.

Quick tip:

If the server isn’t displayed in the Server drop down list, add it to the list using the SQL Server list management dialog.
