When I download a product help file from the website, none of the pages are displayed. I get a page that says "The page cannot be displayed". How can I solve this?
The problem is caused by Windows security features
To solve it right click the downloaded .chm file in Windows Explorer and unblock it. The Unblock command is either in the context menu or in the Properties dialog
Does ApexSQL support Sybase, Oracle, MySQL or any other database system besides Microsoft SQL Server?
Can running ApexSQL product be scheduled?
Yes, most of our products have CLI and execution of CLI statements can be scheduled using SQL Server Jobs or Windows Task Scheduler
Can I use ApexSQL product projects on other machines?
Yes, just make sure that the save password option is not checked when saving the project
I'm using SQL authentication to connect to SQL Server. How secure is my password when handled by ApexSQL products?
ApexSQL products will store SQL Server password only if the password saving option is selected when saving a project. It will be saved in an encrypted format. Nobody will be able to use these credentials on any other machine. The password encryption is machine-dependent, so even if the complete project file is transferred to another machine, products on the new machine will be unable to read the stored credentials
What are the .log files in %AppDataLocal%\ApexSQL folder created by ApexSQL products?
These are ApexSQL product log files. They help us debug problems encountered with ApexSQL products. Our Support engineers might ask you to send them. You can do that without worries that personal data or SQL Server credentials are stored in them. If you want to check log files yourself, open them in any text editor
Is a database snapshot created by ApexSQL tools the same as the snapshot created by MS SQL Server database snapshot feature?
No. ApexSQL snapshots have .axsnp file extension and can be used only with our products
