When I added the Native Source Control driver add-in reference in the about box in Edit 2008 it requested an activation key and wouldn't accept my Edit activation key which is covered under a maintenance contract. Is this a bug or a hidden upgrade fee?

Guys - these are pretty basic questions. Let's review the bare basics on these, what is an addin, how it is purchased etc so these can be reviewed on the forum. I don't really consider this a sales question when you look at the technical aspects of this question. I can review with anyone items they have questions about.

anywho - atrex - ApexSQL Source Control is a totally separate product. It is an addin for ApexSQL Edit, Diff and soon other products. click here for the link

http://www.apexsql.com/sql_tools_p.asp#source_control

to use it in ApexSQL Edit you need to purchase a separate activation key for it. It is $49 - if you are under Maint I can probably get you a break. email me at sales@apexsql.com

Thanks Brian,

I don't really control the purse strings around where I work, but our purchasing director said he'd drop you an email to see what can be worked out.

Hopefully the error I ran into trying to use the native vault driver is one that can be fixed easily:

OK let's get the error address first. you should have a fully functional 30 day trial for the Source Control Addin as well. We need to verify that is working. Guys - pls follow up on this.

once all of our ducks are in line have the big boss ping me and I can get him a deal.
